(Early February) AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: This massive PGA Tour event brings elite golfers and thousands of fans. Hotel rooms from Monterey down to Carmel-by-the-Sea vanish, and access roads near 17-Mile Drive are restricted.
(Early April) Pebble Beach Food & Wine: A premier culinary festival in early April that draws thousands of luxury travelers. Fine dining venues, boutique inns, and local catering talent are heavily monopolized.
(Late April) Big Sur International Marathon: Highway 1 experiences total or partial closures from Big Sur through Carmel. If your venue relies on coastal transit or ocean views along the highway, this weekend is non-viable.
(Mid-July) Carmel Bach Festival: A historic two-week classical music celebration. While it doesn't cause gridlock, it creates a prolonged squeeze on local boutique hotel inventory in the actual village.
